The Giro Switchblade MIPS Helmet is a downhill certified full face helmet with a removable chinbar. Everything about the Switchblade is optimised for the descent which is why it’s certified to the highest levels of protection standards with and without the chinbar.
This helmet features the Roc Loc Air DH fit system, which has a bumper around the dial to prevent unintentional adjustments if your helmet comes into contact with your backpack or neck brace. When the chinbar is removed, wind tunnel cheek pad ventilation adds cooling power as you start to climb. The full-cut style gives this helmet an aggressive look whilst also providing certified safety coverage, even if you do not use the chinbar.
When your ride is all about descending, so should your helmet and the Switchblade MIPS is the only removable chinbar helmet that is truly built for the descent. When climbing back up the mountain, the chinbar is easy to remove and is done so by simply pushing the buttons under the chinbar, rotating upwards, and then removing. It is just as easy to re-install and when fitted provides rigid and reassuring chin protection.
