For the rider just getting into the sport who is looking to make a smaller upfront investment, the Octave makes the true BMX feel attainable with features like a top load stem, 25-9 gearing and added clearance on the frame, fork and brake for wider tires. The fully sealed rear cassette and 3 piece cranks add durability to the bike and the 20-inch top tube, 8.0-inch bars and 170mm cranks, give it a nice compact feel. The unsealed headset, American bottom bracket and value components mean this bike will need more care, regular maintenance and investment in replacement parts to keep it running smoothly.
